Just finished Natural Causes. Brilliant. I am a huge fan now. Of course I’m a fan of Ian Rankin, but also of John Connolly and Inspector McLean gives me the Charlie Parker vibe. I live in the US but was born at Western General, Dad was American, but the scottish part of my family still endures and I enjoy hearing about my home town. I can’t wait for the second installation!

Okay I’m not really following you but I didn’t realise you’d your own website page so you’ll find another comment on your blog! Natural Causes is brilliant, I loved every page, couldn’t get to the end fast enough as it’s one of those books you want to read the next page off. Sadly due to exhaustion I had to give up some evenings! I downloaded onto my Kindle and am going to look for more of your books now that I have been introduced to you the author. Loved all the Scottish references as I lived in the Borders for a few years and now live in England so get homesick regularly. Thank you again for this wonderful book, hurry on with the next one!!! I found Natural Causes accidentally just when trawling through the “freebies” for my Kindle. There are only ever about 5 books I download from the 100 list as I am more interested in finding books that I actually want to read than in the fact that they are free.
I really enjoyed the book and thought there might be a follow-up available but my research suggests otherwise and so I will have to add your name to my list of favourite authors for the moment and keep a look out…….
I was brought up in Dundee (finally escaped in 1976) and so the idea of a “local” author whose work (in 1 genre anyway) appeals to me is a bit of a conundrum! You know how those of us from north of the Tay view Fifers….
In any case, the book was great and I’m looking forward to many, many more!! If watching the sheep helps – go sit (sic) in the rain and watch!!
