The Countdown Begins…

IMG_0444These beauties dropped through my letterbox earlier this week. Proper, real copies of Natural Causes, exactly the same as will be appearing shortly in a bookstore near you. I have to say I had a bit of a squee moment when I saw them – very grown up and proper.

Publication day is May 9th, and things are starting to come together for the launch. I’ll be appearing at Waterstones in Dundee, in conversation with Russel D McLean (no relation) and possibly even mangling some of my prose by trying to read it. If you’re in the area, do come along. It’s ticketed, but tickets are free and available from the store. Kick off at half six in the evening.

I’m going to be doing signings in lots of other book shops, and will get a list up here just as soon as dates are finalised. I’m also on a panel at this year’s Crimefest, Sunday morning, June 2nd at ten past eleven.

July sees the publication of The Book of Souls, and I’ll be launching that in Waterstones in Edinburgh. More details as I have them.

And of course in amongst all this book stuff I have to fit in lambing and calving on the farm. Well, it would be really dull if it was easy…

The covers are lovely, James! Wish I were going to be in Scotland this year and able to be at a signing. Probably won’t get there until next year though. Will send my friend, Katrina, from Kirkcaldy though! She has been wanting to read your books too.

I’m working on a signing events calendar, Peggy. I’ll be doing plenty in Fife over the summer.

That is fantastic! Congratulations, they look great!

I read both books on Kindle and loved them! Am definitely going to get the hardcopy versions! I think it’s fabulous that you have been published, they were both cracking good reads, brilliant characters, riveting storyline… just all round good entertainment!

I know I sound like I am gushing, but lately have been struggling to find books that grab me, and yours did!

Thanks Jacqui. Really pleased to hear you liked the books. I’ve written the third in the series now, so that’s something to look forward to!

Congratulations! I am eagerly awaiting the next book in the series. Any idea of when it may be out?

Thanks, Amy. The Book of Souls is out in print on July 4th in the UK – already available worldwide as an e-book. Number three in the series will be published in the UK early next year. I’m still working on a US print deal.
